I have sat and wondered over the last two weeks, "What will it take?' 'What will it take to cause this nation, and freedom-loving people around this "dark, terrestrial ball", as Joseph Addison once called it, to unite together against the onslaught of this malevolent nightmare now approaching.  This thing, this Islamism, this evil against civilization?' "  The thought that the only thing that would make people do so would be an attack with WMD that would take out an American or European city, due to the collective realization that our survival would be at stake, is the obvious one at first blush.  However, the fact that so many despise the very liberty that past generations have earned through blood, convinces me that, alone, the fear of lost civilization would drive too many to simply acquiesce, just surrender.  Recriminations of left against right, and vice-versa, would be heard constantly, and the noise would be deafening.

So what is the solution?  For once, I guess the old Crusaders may have had something going up there in their "medulla oblongata."  The symbol of the Cross is a good one to rally around, and may be the only effective response from the West, and those in the Third World who would stand for liberty.

So, as of today, I am leaving Townhall.  I am not interested in being part of a limited crowd of people who spend their time just talking to each other.  So, off I go, back to Blogger, to MySpace, to Orkut, to Friendster, to Gazzag, to Zanga.  I'll be quite busy, I think.  And I'll possibly be doing some importing of articles, RSS, podcasts, etc., from Townhall into my blog sites.  But I'll tell you, I'm leaving the safe confines.  I'm going to where the people in need are.  I'll thank you in advance for your resources, but just the same, goodbye for now, and Adios.

19 July 2006

Well, good evening.  As the rest of the world watches, Israel and the Hezbollah-Hamas-Al Qaeda-Syria-Iran cabal do their dance of death leading to World War III.  Israel, in fact, whether we want to or not (sorry Mr. Buchanan and Will), Israel is our frontline in this war, even more so than Iraq.  I have, to be honest, been possessed of thoughts that have been far from what are ordinarily the thoughts of one who follows the teaching of One who said, "Love your enemies, pray for those who hate you, revile you and treacherously persecute you, and speak and do all manner of evil against you, for great is your reward in heaven."  But it has always been the challenge of those who follow the Master's teaching to deal with those who would not simply mean evil against you personally, but against your entire civilization.

Is it the Master's will to consign an entire civilization to Muslim dhimmitude?  Especially when that will is to consign my own daughters, college-educated, vivacious, and lovely beyond compare, to become mere property, clad in tents that reveal nothing of the incredible humanity which they are?  Is that what I wish for my wife, the love of my life?  Is it his will to perpetually consign likewise an entire civilization to embrace a religion that, in fact, is today in every place where it rules a gehenna of poverty, oppression and despair?  Is it the will of my Master to ensure the systematic destruction of an entire race, the Jews, at the hands of this religion---His own people?

Is it His desire that the faith that He founded be systematically dismantled, His followers, which today now number in the billions (or hundreds of millions, depending on the level of devotion as a definition), all forced to publicly convert against their consent, and live and worship in shadows?

Since any well-thought person would answer that question with a decided "No!", then one might understand why I wish for war.  Yes, I said it.  I want this war to begin.  This dark, evil religion--this Islam, must die, it must be destroyed.  Islamium delenda est.  There is no turning back.  But I must explain, or my thoughts are forever discredited as perverted fanaticism.

More later.  Adios.

I am personally in a real quandry.  I don't want to see innocent people die.  But the truth is, it is likely an issue of either "you pay me now,  or you can pay me later."  We can send Condoleeza Rice to Syria, Lebanon, and Israel, get some kind of cease fire, which will let Hezbollah off the hook---again, and will result in an unprecedented war that will cause millions to die.  Or, we can just let the Israeli Defence Forces do their jobs and end this long night of darkness for the residents who have put up with the insistent shelling and rocketing.

More to come later.  Adios.

Well, it looks like there is no ability on my part to import old blogs into the new Townhall blogs.  I don't pretend to understand it, given the advertising of Hugh Hewitt and others to existing bloggers to join in the blogging network of Townhall.  I have been told by Townhall that there is no such thing, but I'm not done.

In the meantime, it is clear that my problems pale into insignificance compared to the plight of a young Christian student, hiding in a shelter in Beirut, or a young girl, suspending her entire life as she flees her native Haifa for refuge in a school somewhere in Israel's interior.  I cling to hope, not that Israel backs off, but that her forces will win a spectacular victory with relatively few civilian casualties.  However, it appears that the mood of the West is to continually underestimate the foe, for Christendom sleeps yet again.  World War II taught us nothing, neither did Vietnam, nor 9/11.  We will let our enemies strike the first big blow, and no doubt, millions of our own people will die before America and her allies join Israel to destroy the threat of IslamoFascism.

But I cling to the promise in the Bible that says "Hear O Israel.  This day you go into battle against your enemies.  But it is the LORD your GOD, who goes before you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.

More to say later.  Adios.

8 July 2006

Well, this has been a sometimes frustrating process, just getting into the personal blog page to even edit or post.  It is my next function to start importing my other blog sites to this one, if practicable.  But so far I have not the faintest idea of how to do so.  There is no function to allow me to import some of my blogs from where they are presently over here, especially my blogs in immigration-legal affairs, faith-freedom, and intelligence-counterterrorism-foreign affairs.  I can use some advice on what to do, and to do so quickly, with the large and growing audience here at TownHall, would be of inestimable help.

I am ecstatically happy about Justice Anthony Kennedy's decision to extend his TRO to a full preliminary injunction, staying the enforcement of U.S. District Judge Gordon Thompson's order to the city of San Diego to remove the cross on Mt. Soledad.  The fact that, in his four-page order on Friday, that at least four members of the High Court will vote to review the constitutionality of the cross, whether on state or federal land.  Within the course of a few days, we move from what could have been a major civil demonstration, with hundreds, even thousands of protestors, arrested in trying to block the removal of the cross by the City on August 1st, in compliance with the order, to a new phase in the battle over religious monuments that could, conceivably, end with the constant attempts to strike down America's Christian heritage getting a devastating head shot.  I am quite hopeful.

Greetings, fellows in the search and advocacy of truth and liberty.  I'll see if I can import my blogs over at Blogger back here.  Adios.
